Narrator: Michael “Pinball” Clemons, Toronto 2015 volunteer ambassador: “Volunteers are the heart of the Games, and they are the ones who are going to make us successful if the Games are to be successful. One thing I learned early on as a coach is … the better my players were, the better coach I became. And so, as I sit here before you, I am simply a by-product of the collective brilliance of our volunteers.”

Narrator: Jose Taboada, Pan AM Games volunteer: “When I heard about something as big as this, then I am like ... I want to do this. You know, why not? You have a chance to represent your city and your country … You know, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Narrator: Hughes Boisvert-Simard, fencer (translated from French to English):“The volunteers are incredible. It was something that I wasn’t expecting. They’re always smiling, always saying, “Bonjour,” “Have a nice day,” “How’s it going,” “How did your competition go?” They’re genuinely interested, and having such dedicated people around who were always happy to see us really enhanced our experience.”
